At Ease software provides parents, teachers and trainers with a user interface that's even easier to use than the Macintosh Finder. Its safe, friendly user environment makes it easier for novice users to launch applications. At Ease also limits access to the Finder and the hard disk, so system settings can't be changed, and files can't be lost or damaged.
Put Yourself at Ease
At Ease offers important safety features. For example, you can require that users enter a password before they can return to the Finder. This ensures that no changes - such as accidental deletion or intentional tampering - can be made to the system software, applications and files. You can also prevent access to the computer's hard disks, by allowing users to save files only on floppy disks.
How to Improve Your Memory
When you turn At Ease on, it replaces the Finder desktop at startup. Because At Ease requires less memory than the Finder, more than 200 kilobytes of additional RAM is available for use by your Macintosh applications. This feature is especially useful for Macintosh computers that have 2MB of memory and use System 7.
At Ease Makes Macintosh Even Easier
Simply use the At Ease control panel to customise At Ease with icons for the applications and documents you want to make available to users.
The icons are placed on large "buttons" that appear on the screen. A single click of the mouse on the appropriate button launches the application or document.
